Looking for a few recommendations.
1. Good place to grab a pizza?
And
2. Is there a beach to watch a killer sunset from other than the beach bar?

Becky and Mike: For pizza in Cruz Bay, try Cafe Roma (above Joe's Diner), Da Livio (one block behind Wharfside Village), and Ronnie's (just below the roundabout). Caneel is a nice west facing beach; sushi is served starting at 6 PM, and either the beach or the upper terrace is a great place to watch the sun go down. Francis also faces west, but you might have a skeeter problem there. Speaking of which, has the mosquito bloom abated?

All the best,

Kevin

Tough to beat the sunset at Solomon. You just have to negotiate the trail and the bugs back to town, but it's worth it! :D

Not a beach, but I love to watch the sunset from Ram's Head. YOu can watch the sunset from one direction and the moon rise from the other. If you are there during a full moon it is spectacular.

^^Kevin, we have been here since Monday night, and I have yet to see a mosquito. So far we have spent all of our time in or around Cruz Bay, but much of it has been outdoors. So far I am very pleasantly surprised at the lack of mosquitoes.

Thanks for the warning on the "skeeters". We will be there in 1 week (next Saturday - 7th-15th - woohoo!!) and after all the rain a couple weeks back I figured they would be in full bloom about the time we arrived. But no matter because we can't wait to be on STJ anyway :D

I think the mosquito situation probably depends on what you are used to back at home. We have been on the island since Monday, and have seen a few, but nothing like even an average night in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Went on the Reef Bay hike yesterday, and my wife and I were commenting on how few bugs there were, but there was one lady on the hike who could not stop complaining about how many mosquitoes there were. If you have them at home, these will seem light. If you don't have them at home, you will probably think there are a lot. I am very happy with how few we have seen in town, on the trail, and on the beaches.
