I could be mistaken, but zooming in on the name on the stern, it sure looks like Red Hook I. It also has dual hulls, and that slanted communications antenna up front. I was expecting the new ferries to look larger...

I think that is what some of the issues are with the new boats. The rumors I've heard are that some people do not think they are sea worthy enough to handle the swells on Pillsbury Sound and that there isn't enough room for luggage. When the Coast Guard ran tests for the crews to certify the boats, Varlack didn't show up and the other company wasn't ready.
