Top Three Villas

As I sit here trying to plan our next trip and which villa to rent I find myself faced with a mountain of trip reports and villa reviews and quite honestly my eyes are ready to fall out of my head.

I know we have all seen and responded to the "Villa Recommendations?" post before but I want to make this very simple.

I think it would be great if some of you "villa veterans" could simply list your top three (or one if you are lazy.) No explanation or reasoning. Maybe you base your villa selection on location, furnishings, pool or more practical things like the distance from the pool to the blender and the ever so popular "Jorge Nekkidness Factor". However, I don’t care what criteria you used to arrive at your top picks....just lay them out there.

What I plan to do is use some highly unscientific mathematical calculation to arrive at the most recommended villa and then go and rent it. If I have a great time...and you recommended it… I'll buy you a Carib at the Beach Bar. If I have an awful time (highly unlikely on St. John) then at least I can blame it on somebody else.

Thanks!

For three couples (with or without kids), seeking equal masters, I like Ambiance. Great pool. Great furnishings. Not a master cooks kitchen. But otherwise phenom house.

OOOOHHHH BOY. This should set a record. Beija Flor. Great house and great view and convient to Cruz Bay. The driveway was a little challenge till we got the hang of it. Anole. Great view, great view, great view. Sea Cay. A super villa for the money. We are staying at Southern Cross this Dec and have been there to inspect it and hope it goes to the top of our list...God bless....Bill

Haven't seen anything but pictures, but it comes highly recommended. If I could afford anything, I'd go with Hakuna Matata.

Thanks for such a fun topic!!!

What time of year are you traveling and what is your maximum budget?? I know you said just go for it, but those things really do matter.

I throw in Vistaero too. We have very much enjoyed this villa with our group. Although, as I have mentioned on this forum before, it is on the market. We are going in late July/early August with our four children...we'll let you know if that has any impact whatsoever.

But, If it sells, who knows what the future rentals will be and if it sits on the market, who knows what the upkeep will be...

LOVE the pool there...

We have only stayed at one but liked it so much that we immediately booked again for this year. We were even bumped by the owners so they could get some time there :D Villa Allesandra is wonderful. It had everything for us- pool that was warmed by the sun all day, hot tub, full privacy, a/c in both main house bedrooms, tempurpedic king bed (we will be buying one of those, all my back pain went away after sleeping on that bed for a week!), about 5 minutes from Cruz Bay, awesome view of choc hole, Great Cruz Bay and St Thomas, flat driveway, it was clean too. I best shut up. Having said all that we will probably stay elsewhere next time to try something new and because this villa gets booked really quick, we'll see if we can tear ourselves away  Even the massage guy said it was a great villa.

Cypressgirl -

You are breaking the rules by asking these questions....

But I will humor you....

Budget is not a huge factor until we start pushing into the 5 figure range. We will most likely be traveling in late spring/early summer.

Again thanks everybody for the input...looks like I might be buying quite a few beers at the Beach Bar.
