Not St John, but here is one on Anegada, BVI. Mounted on a quadrocopter.

Here's a video I made in November sailing. I used the GoPro snorkeling in March and it did very well.

Do you guys use the attachable LCD screen? I'm just wondering about using it snorkeling without a viewing screen.

I don't have the screen. I've found LCDs don't work well for me while snorkeling. I manually frame the image and it works pretty well with the wide angel lens. I've only used it a bit snorkeling. I'm working on editing my snorkel of the Wreck of the Rhone and will post when that's done.

I have the LCD screen. It is no better or worse than any LCD screen on your typical point and shoot cameras. It does allow me to see enough to get decent still shots. Underwater video is awesome.

Cool, and the LCD screen comes with a waterproof housing as well?

Also interested in seeing some still shots underwater. The video looks great, just curious about still photos from snorkeling/diving.

I don't have any underwater still shots.

This thread got me motivated to edit my Wreck of the Rhone snorkel video:

Which gopro are you all using?

I've added the hero3+ both black and silver editions to my amazon wish list, wondering if the black is worth the extra money?

I have the black. It was given to me as a gift by my husband so I don't know what factors played into that decision. Knowing him though, he gave it very careful consideration and thoroughly researched the options. It was also recommended by the local dive shop.

I use my gopro all the time and love it. Some tips:
- Get a few extra batteries - it eats them fast (especially if you use the LCD display, and make sure you turn off it's wifi)
- You can use the wifi to connect to your iphone, with the gopro app you can use your iphone to change settings and viewfinder (make sure you turn off the camera's wifi when you're done).
- Only the GoPro black has the new image sensor in it. The silver has the same image sensor that was in the GoPro 2, and the white the same with the GoPro 1. Don't waste your money on the white. Silver is good for most people, but I would only get the black if you can afford the extra $100 - you're getting a higher quality sensor and it does better in low light situations ie underwater.
- For underwater get an extendable monopole, gopro wrist mount, or a dive tray to hold the camera
- For underwater get the GoPro moisture absorbing strips - so your housing doesn't fog up on you.
- For underwater get a SRP red filter (best color correction one out there). It will take out the overly blue color and restore realistic color on your video - works to about 30ft.

The free video editing software downloaded from GoPro is actually very good. I no longer use my paid mac programs and just use the GoPro one now.

Hope that helps.
