I read a lot of posts about visiting Lameshur Bay but often wonder if many people know about what the VIERS camp there was originally remodeled for. The Tektite Project in 1969 recently had an interesting reunion in STJ and some of the details are recorded here:

Thanks for posting this. I remember reading somewhere about the Tektite project - very cool! Sometime I'd like to take the trail to Beehive Cove and see what it's like.

After many years of visiting St. John we finally took a tour of VIERS with the Friends of the Park. And after seeing the relief map at the Tektite museum at VIERS I realized that Beehive Cove was around the corner of Big Lamshur not open sea. So this year we finally turned the corner to snorkel it. Very exciting.

I may have posted this before, but one day while crawling the web I came across this collection of photos from one of the U of T observers for the Tektite Project. The captions tell an interesting story about the project and staff interactions.
