It is busy as hell this week but if you look hard enough you can still find a beach to yourself. It just takes a little effort.

Beautiful! Which beach were you lucky enough to have to yourself?

Very nice!

nikkiki, I think that is Kiddle Bay. A bit tricky to find, good deepwater snorkeling.

Thanks, liamsaunt. Can somebody attempt directions for me? My favorite STJ moments are when I find myself alone on a beach - one of many reasons Jumbie is my current favorite.

Bill...define 'Busy as Hell" STJ busy with 20 or so on the beach?? Or "Clearwater" fla busy with 3,000 and 5 rows of chairs lined up?...:)

Exactly Bigcheeze - we'll be at Maho and say "It's getting crowded here, let's move on", but even a crowded day at Maho doesn't remotely compare to Lake Michigan beaches in the summer here.

I think we're a little spoiled on St John.

Looks more like Grootpan to me. I don't think Kiddel has that much sand. If the waves would just die down a little, I'd be there now!

I agree with the vote for Grootpan, although Kiddel is close by!

years ago we were told that those were "local" beaches and if you saw a car there you should come back some other time..one of our favorites....the deap water out at the point can be a little sharky.

Ok, Grootpan it is. With the wind out of the southeast that is probably why we had it to ourselves. Snorkeling the right side is the best but on that particular day we got tossed around quite a bit. Still, it is nice. A bit buggy with the salt pond behind.
