Our scheduled flight arrival to STT is 9:15 pm, and we have decided to try to make the 11:00 pm Red Hook ferry. I'd prefer to check a bag, but will go carry-on only if necessary to get out of the airport quicker. Also, should we plan on taking a private taxi like Rachel's or Christopher's, or will we get there on time if we take a public taxi?

If you do carry on, you'll probably make the 10pm. Not a lot of traffic that time of night

Yes no problem at that time of night but there is always the midnight ferry But, as has been mentioned, you might make the 10pm with carry on only but the "big" factor there is the taxi will wait until full before leaving so it is doubtful as most visitors will have checked luggage.

Probably - but it depends when (if during Carnival there might be a delay depending on the route taken)
