Wontongirl's husband was taking advantage of being off of work and decided to sleep in a little later this morning. We all obliged and the rest of us drove into town for breakfast at JJ's. Food porn coming right up!

Ok. I have lost all of my manners. That is a picture of my half-eaten seafood omelet.

You'll notice someone may have had to wait 5 seconds for their meal, apparently, because it is intact when I photographed it. I don't remember any waiting for food so I must have gone to town eating. Had a Bloody Mary with breakfast and all was good in the world.

When you think it can't get much better, BOATSRUS and her crew show up! That's as good as it gets, right? Well, then we see Barbara and Billy! It's a big party at JJ's before noon! We couldn't have planned it any better. The "Senata" from BOATS crew was getting hungry and we let him borrow some toast to ward off any hunger shakes. We consumed some beverages and went back to the villa to rouse wontongirl's husband.

We were going to Trunk Bay. Had the usual errands: ice at Pine Peace and sandwiches at Deli Grotto. What can I say, we are creatures of habit. We ran into Barbara and Billy again. This time at Deli Grotto! Jorge was out diving and Billy was escorting Barbara on a shopping/sight-seeing spree. He's a sweetie pie. I love you, Billy--you, too Barbara. :D I didn't realize I was taking a picture a building and a sign in the background. Not many people get photo-opportunities like this.

We arrive at Trunk Bay. Everything is perfect! I snorkeled the trail and it was great. Laid on our neat sheets and tried to finally begin a book. Has anyone ever noticed all the people taking pictures on the beach-for instance, people really posing like models and stuff? Well, after an hour or two, I had noticed a mother taking pictures of her adult daughter. The daughter would stand in the water just right, and swing her head around as if someone just called her name and look into the camera. After every little photo shoot they did, the daughter had to look at the pictures.

No big deal right? Then a newlywed looking couple walked up and did same kind of thing. All of this is taking place right in front of us. Except the bride was in the water seductively crawling out of the water onto the beach.

I guess posing this way is common. Someone forgot to send us the memo regarding the cool photography poses.

After all of those people left, I told my husband and wontongirl about it and we decided it would be fun. Well, we took it the next level and must have looked like total freaks out in Trunk Bay splashing water in the air and arching our backs. This little joke continued for the rest of the trip. So, please know the pictures I will present here are a result of this. Although, I have to admit, some of them turned out awesome. Above all, we had the best time doing it.

We went back to our villa and chilled by the pool before we got ready for La Tapa reservations.
Wontongirl had mentioned her hair wasn't feeling as soft as usual and we blamed the hotel little shampoos we had brought. I mentioned that I had some conditioner with me and we decided to apply it to her hair while sitting by the pool. One thing leads to another and we had a great idea to really accelerate the conditioning properties by wrapping her head with saran wrap. Never a dull moment with us! Wontongirl gave me permission to use this photo of our activity.

La Tapa was wonderful. No food porn available. Had an "Island Mind" night. I need to take it easy with the undereye concealer.

Friday, May 11

What a magical day! Our last full day. We chartered a boat from VIBE with Captain Sam and Captain DeShon heading to the BVIs. Before we met the boat we stopped by Subway for breakfast and ate it at the picnic tables in the National Park Visitor Center. We were off to the Tortola to check into customs. Captain Sam took care of all of the paper work and we headed toward the Caves so we could snorkel a bit.

Image

In the prior report, I had mentioned purchasing my own snorkeling gear. I noticed sand in my mask and snorkel so I dipped in the water to rinse it. I dropped it! Wontongirl said "Jump in."
I jumped in, opened my eyes, saw it floating along with a sting ray, and hundreds of fish I hadn't seen yet! The mask and snorkel were gone. It's OK, I borrowed one from Wonton's supply. And I got to see a sting ray. Wonton and I snorkeled to a couple of caves. It was amazing. I swam back behind the boat to see if I could see my mask and snorkel on the ocean floor. No.

Off to Smuggler's Cove.
Image

Wonton's brother and sister-in-law were staying on Tortola while we were in STJ so we met up with them at Foxy's. We had lunch and beverages. What a great place. At the bar, a guy had a trap looking type of cage with a mongoose and a crab enclosed. It was some kind of torture for the mongoose. The crab kept pinching the thing like crazy.
Image

Before we left, Wonton's brother-in-law engineered the Forum shirt for us to tie onto the rafter. So take a Sharpie and sign it when you visit Foxy's!
Image

Off to the Soggy Dollar Bar. Then to Sandy Spit.

This is where the modeling posing photography thing was getting out of hand. We got a picture by the palm tree and I said, "Hey, ya'll, let's hug that big leaf hanging down."
Image

It took some convincing, but they did it.

Prior to leaving for the boat that morning, I was thumbing through an "InStyle" magazine at the villa. There are a lot of ads in there and just the first couple of pages gave us inspiration for the, "I need to touch the towel to my face" pose.
Image

Dinner that night was at ZoZo's. Watched the sunset at their bar. Wow! No food porn, sorry. It was great!

I'll leave the departure day to another report along with L'Esprit de la Vie Villa pics and summary.

What a fun trip report. yall crack me up with the poses, especially the towel to the face pose . I did notice people posing on the beaches & thought it was funny, especially the cruisers at Trunk.

I especially love the one of you and your husband in his LSU ball cap--GEAUX TIGERS :!: :!: :!:

Thanks Kellyanna for the great report. I feel like I was right there with you!

Once we were at Trunk and a group of 6 or 7 college-aged girls (cheerleader types) arrived and started posing and snapping pics like crazy. They took pictures for an entire hour and left. They did not swim, snorkel or sunbathe. Had it not been for the "seductive crawl out of the water" pose they would not have even gotten wet.

Anxious to see more pics of your villa, it looks amazing.

What a fun report. I am enjoying every installment. I have been known to drop my snorkel gear. Luckily my husband loves doing this snorkel dive thing and has rescued it many times. I don't know how he does it but I am grateful!

Cypressgirl, Those crazy poses camouflage / shift everything around and it made me look way better than our boring "stand" pose. Crazy posing will be a part of every vacation now! The "I must touch the towel to my face" pose is great because the towel covers much of the body. I posted the posing story and pictures with hesitation, but I was wondering how many other people had posing sessions. Oh, and yes, I eat several times a day at home and on vacation. It's the posing.

Caribert, You guys have the right idea about all of that posing. We had the best time taking those silly pictures! And they do help provide great memories.
