Tuesday, May 8
We were all awake by 9 a.m. This was the day our friend Jeff made a hearty breakfast for us all. Not on Monday as I had previously reported.

We lounged around our pool/hot tub area discussing going to a beach.

Image

BOATSRUS called and they were heading to the beach. I have pictures, but I can not remember which one. It's a North shore beach and the beach was steps away from the parking area. I know readers will give me a clue. I was enjoying being along for the ride.

Image

Before we drove to the beach, I bought my own snorkel gear at Cruz Bay Dive Shop. ( I love snorkeling and revisited the activity on Monday at Honeymoon Beach with Barbara and borrowed equipment.) While I was acquiring my gear, the rest of my gang ran the errands like getting ice and Deli Grotto sandwiches (remember, I like to eat---not much-- about every 4 hours I'm awake-and 4 hours will be rolling around sometime on the beach-Yes, I have the most understanding and considerate friends and husband).

We make it to this beach and BOATSRUS and her gang are soaking in the water. It was fun spending time with them. BOATS is hilarious! And her friends are right up there with her. I've got a picture of BOATS with a travel/commuter coffee mug out on the beach. What's in there hot chocolate? Coffee? I know, but I'll never tell.

BOATS and her group left and we enjoyed more of the water, view and beach. Then a big black cloud blew over and it rained. Once it rained, and continued, the mosquitoes proceeded to bite any exposed skin on anyone-even the folks who say they are immune to mosquito bites! The mosquitoes won and we decided to go back to the villa.

Besides the mosquitoes at the end, it was a marvelous day at this beach-even if I don't know which beach. (Is there a phenomenon called "island mind/brain/thinking" that coincides with "island time"? Because, I'll chalk the unknown beach to "island mind/brain/thinking")

Dinner that evening was at The Lime Inn. Sorry no food porn. Forgot. On Island Thinking.

Wednesday, May 9

Our friend Jeff had received news early in our trip about the loss of a close family friend. He decided to go home early as he was to be a pall bearer. Wontongirl's husband drove Jeff to the Ferry so he could make his flight back.

It was a day of lounging around the pool.

Around 4:30 p.m. we went drove the Cruz Bay. We caught up with Becky and NascarFan59 at Woody's just coming back from the DBFT BVI trip. They had a great time.

Image

We said our good-byes and walked to the Beach Bar. It had been a while since I had eaten, so I took the recommendation from Wontongirl and ordered the Tuna Bites. Incredible! I was going to order more I loved them so much. Michelle was there, but our bartender was Stacey. She is beautiful gorgeous, very kind and funny. And she took great care of us. Thank you, Stacey.

Image

We decided to have pub grub for dinner so we ordered food. There is food porn of this. Shrimp and chips, some kind of meet sandwich and a salad?

Image

BOATS and her gang arrived! Again, so fun! We also got to know two sets of newlyweds. Both were staying in STT.

Here's the big thing that happened. Are you ready? A possible Kenny Chesney sighting!!
I'm sitting there at the bar and this group of guys walk up (the bar part closest to the beach). Then this guy wearing a tank (not tight but not really baggy) and a yellow hat on backwards and talking on a cell phone walks in behind them.

Wontongirl noticed I was quiet (must have been a rare moment) and said something about something.
I said "Shhhhhh. I AM looking at Kenny Chesney."
She asked, "Where?"
I said, "I'm not going to point, but he guy with the yellow hat on backwards."
She quickly replied, "That is NOT Kenny Chesney."
I said, "Really? No resemblance at all?"
Well, she had been looking at another guy on the other side of the bar who resembled Ted Koppel wearing a yellow hat backwards. No offense to Ted Koppel, but he doesn't look like KC. I didn't know who she was referring to, but all of a sudden, her face went white and I thought she was going to spit or choke on her drink when she finally glanced to the left.
"Oh My God, I think that IS Kenny Chesney," she gasped. I think she even placed her hands over her lips in disbelief.

We asked Stacey if it was KC and she said "No." Do you think they are told to say that?
Anyway, the best part was I didn't do a freak out thing. Didn't even sneak a picture. If it was or wasn't KC and his entourage, they were all handsome and I apologize for gazing. (There weren't any concerts that week).

Me thinking I saw Kenny Chesney. We call this my "poker face"

Kenny, if it was you, pm me. I'll keep it quiet.

That's it! Hawksnest. Everyone has been too busy for me to ask so I forged on with the report. Thank you, Marybeth!

Looks like Maho to me too. You park RIGHT there. No walking to the beach.

Also, with a poker face like that I'll play anytime :)

the pictures and the fact that she said parking area "aka parking lot" made me think Hawksnest but maybe we'll never know for sure ;)

Ya'll I'm so sorry. BOATS, wontonton? They'll know for sure. But I don't know when they'll be back on the Forum. Marybeth, there was a parking lot and we were right there. I think it's Hawksnest from looking at the map.

If there was a lot and it was close to Cruz Bay it was probably Hawksnest. If it was further on down the North Shore road and you parked RIGHT on the beach practically than it would have been Maho.

Both great choicse and it looks like such a fun time!

I've actually never been to Hawksnest. We were going one day and the lot was packed (turned out to be the beach to beach swim or something like that). Anyway...we kept on driving and ended up at Francis. Much further out but a GREAT beach too.
