RE: SUNRISE ON STJ • Wait for it...
Below are photos that I took over the course of half an hour this morning. The three side by side start with the sun, blocked out by low cloud coverage, just clearing the horizon and what looks like a dud of a sunrise.

Many times I see people watching sunrise get up and leave too soon. If you are down here and get up to watch sunrise plan to hang around for at least half an hour because even sunrises that start out looking like a bust come around and amaze.

Even I had packed it in this morning and was heading home when I turned to thank the sun for another beautiful day and saw the last shot of the three shown here.

Also: There is often AMAZING colors and sunbeams out there a good ten minutes before the time of the official sunrise, so try to catch sunrise up to ten minutes before it hits the horizon.

Me, I'm awake to photograph sunrise almost every morning ever since I rescued and started sleeping with Buster Keaton-Geller, my indoor pants-wearing movie-theater-going pet rooster. Go figure...

Cheers! -cheryl

Thanks for all the morning sunrises, Cheryl.
My days just wouldn't be the same without starting it with a look at your St. John sunrises... :D

So...be on Island Time for the Sunrise(s)...(and the sunsets and life in general) and you'll do just fine!
Thanks for the great pics...
