Birding walks and shore walks ??

As you probably all know... (because I keep reminding you) it's almost our turn!!

My daughter works with bald eagles and has been involved in bird rehab for many years. She just wrote me to inform me that for the past 3 hours, she has put together cheat sheets of birds seen in the Caribbean. I guess the book, "Birds of the West Indies" I bought wasn't good enough. LOL

Anyway, previously, I have gone on walks with an educator for the NPS (both Shoreline walks as well as around the St. Francis area). Does anyone know if these are going on in December? I'd hate for her to miss an opportunity to learn more about them and do the BIRD NERD thing. *grin*

Thanks in advance for any information!

I too love birding. Not sure about the shore walks but here's some links and a really cool slide show from VI Audubon society. The Christmas Bird Count is set for December 15. Frank Bay and Francis Bay are great spots.

I've always thought about doing the Shore Walk thing with the NPS, but in 5 trips, we have yet to pull the trigger. If you do this one, please let us know if you'd recommend it! Have FUN!!!

Hi ColumbiaSC,
I have done it twice in the past. I really enjoy it. The first year, I was staying on Sapphire Beach in STT and I caught an early car ferry in time to get over there for it. I plan to take my the whole crew along this year! There is always something to learn!!
