Special times to remember and Special things to do

While researching for our upcoming trip I've come across certain days that places are closed, special dinners, bands playing etc on certain days of the week. Thought it might be helpful to start a thread and get everyone's input. Here's a few I thought of:

Jam session on Wednesday nights at Sun Dog
Jazz on Sunday at the Beach Bar
Tourist Trap is closed on Monday I think
Build your own Bloody Mary Bar at Banana Deck on Saturday and Sunday
Jazz brunch and crab races in Sunday at Miss Lucy's

Tourist Trap closed Sunday and Monday.

LaTapa always had Jazz on Monday night and I believe they are closed Tuesday.

Also, no Sunday Jazz at the BB anymore. They do have plenty of other live music, though.

Open Mic at Concordia on Monday afternoons is a real good time.

I find that the magazine This week in St John /St Thomas has a lot of info in it. You can access it online here :
www.virginislandsthisweek.com

There is a nice section about events calendar :

Have fun !

We met some forum folks at Concordia this afternoon :D - we'll go there again for sure!
Miss Vie's is closed Sundays and Mondays.
Candi's was closed yesterday - maybe always closed on Sundays?

Wontongirl,

I am jealous that you are headed to STJ. Me and the wife could be your personal tour guides out of LIT. Just cover our airfare and we will take care of everything else.

One of the things we discovered in October was Tamarind Court. It is by Baked in the Sun. They have rotating chefs and a different menu each night. We went for Italian Night and it was awesome. I heard that the Prime Rib is "THE" night to go for though. We looked at the breakfast menu and may give that a shot the next trip.

While we didn't try it the Barefoot Cowboy Lounge has all you can eat BBQ at a very reasonable price on Tuesday and Thursday nights (I think). If I remember correctly, it is $20 and there were tons of very positive reviews.

Arkie, my kids would be very upset with me if I got y'all tickets when I'm leaving them at home! Haha! I have many dear friends in Conway and went to college at Hendrix!

wontongirl, good to see your post. It reminded me that I need to pack frozen dumplings and a gallon of frying oil for our sailing trip. What could go wrong?!

We're headed out tomorrow with a couple of nights on St. John. I think I still have some koozies from the infamous trip.

Cheers, RickG
