Is anyone familiar with a trail that leads to Newfound Bay from Vie's Beach? It takes 30 minutes to hike it and goes over a hill.Has anyone snorkeled Newfound Bay?Parafins...

I picked up my information from a video on Youtube.Maybe it is a secret!I think Waterlemon was once a secret and look at it now!We discovered Waterlemon on our third trip,back in 2000.It was a great find!!Parafins...8 weeks to go!!!!!!

I have been there many times. the trail is rough,steep, unmarked and unmaintained....and crosses private land..best to go by sea or shoreline. If you go to the North side of haulover..hike easterly (to the right)along the shore......wear water shoes..not flip flops..it is rocky...and here are places where you have to get wet up to your shins...the first bay you come to is SABA Bay..about 15 feet deep protected by a reef good snorkling here...continue on to newfound bay..brimg food water and wear some sun protecting clothes....plan on 3 to 4 hours.
If you go by sea enter the bay right down the center of the opening between 2 reefs extending from both
shorelines....there is an aerial photo on the contact page at my website.
An option is to find the guy who does kayak trips out here and carry kayaks across Haulover and paddle over.

Hey Sloop thank you for the instructions on how to find New Found Bay, where could one find your website and aerial photos?

There are plenty of spots to sit and lunch. My favorite
is on the point of land that sits between Saba Bay and
Newfound. The beach at Newfound is at the back of the bay, out of the breeze from the channel. Plenty of shade.

I should mention that if you are coming by boat, you should not attempt to enter Saba Bay. There is a reef
across the mouth of the bay.

When I gave walking directions to Newfound Bay i also suggested kayaking, I finally found the website for Hidden Reef Ecotours. They operate out of Haulover.
I see them on the water here at Round Bay all the time, but I never could catch him on land. Based on what I've heard about the operation I believe they would take a group to NewFound by kayak.

Kayaking over would be easier than walking!

We were there (me and the Wishweweretheres) last May. It was a beautiful, calm bay. Some in our group snorkeled and found some conch-dwelling crabs that were huge.
There was also a very large sailboat there that day and some random fisherman that seemed to appear from nowhere (don't know if fishing is allowed there, though). It was just a really quiet, calm bay and a nice place to stop and float if you're out all day and heading back to STJ in the evening.

I may try to hit this spot with Pam Tree Charters first thing in the morning at the end of the month. I figure if Waterlemon Cay is an option, this would be to.
