Trip Report - August 3 - 16, 2013 (Day Two)

I didn't really sleep all that well, so I was ready to get up and go relatively early.
Got D moving, and we enjoyed breakfast on the patio overlooking downtown Cruz Bay. I had oj, yogurt, a banana, and some of the homemade pastries. Such a nice treat to have this available every morning during your stay! We saw Denise, who told us the beach chairs we mentioned were there for their guests on a first-come basis. YAY! We grabbed two on our way out, and off to Maho we went. Maho is ALWAYS our first beach - D insists, as it is his fave.

Our first snorkel was meh. Water was super cloudy / murky (sort of a recurring theme on this trip), but we were SO HAPPY to be back in the water.

Unfortunately, we also discovered we had crap snorkel gear. D purchased new gear for us before this year's trip, and it wasn't cheap. My mask leaked, as did D's tube. SO FRUSTRATING!!! (We remedied this soon. No worries, dear reader.)
After lounging for quite some time, we were hungry.
To Skinny's!

While we were there, these guys brought in a MASSIVE lobster. I mean MASSIVE!!!

MAN, that burger tastes good after 365 days! We enjoyed burgers and numerous drinks (including D's fave - the Coconut Swizzle), and then off to Haulover South. It's tradition. Eat at Skinny's, then go chill out at Haulover South for a while.

Then after chilling, we went for a little look-see....

After Haulover, we decided to go exploring some more.
To Dreeket's!
Never been before, so it was neat to check it out. WOW. Someone has invested a LOT of paper into this place. The infrastructure is AMAZING. There are only a few houses there now, but it appears as though most of the lots are sold. Must be nice!
The view? Not too shabby.

Spotted Angels Rest while we were looking down from Dreeket's.

After Dreeket's, we went "to the end of the road."

Only place to go was back to town.
Stopped at the Maho / Francis overlook on the way back. The overlooks never get old, do they?!?
Here's D looking at his favorite:

We enjoyed Banana Deck (and MORE CONCH FRITTERS!!) for dinner, along with some baked potato soup (DELISH), and some fantastic ribeye quesadillas. And of course some Dirty Bananas and Funky Monkeys. We were too stuffed for the Xango.

Back home to relax. GREAT first day!
