Three night villa rental??

So St. Louis has a great price on flights to STT , 263.00 pp round trip! But I can only get the dates 1/13/2014-1/16/2014...so only 3 nights. I know we could stay at a hotel, but what we love about St. John are the more private villas with the great views...anybody have any suggestions for us?

Thank you!

Seems unlikely to me that a villa would do a 3 night rental in high season. IMO your best bet is to find a villa with those dates available in between someone's departure and the next renter's arrival and ask to fill those dates.

Hi--we have often done rentals for just a few nights, for various reasons, but we have done it pretty last minute, when the villa rental companies are happy to get something rather than nothing. You are traveling there the time of year we always visit. Have never had a problem. And you usually get a last-minute discount, too.

Thank you both for the different perspectives...I did ask one villa owner if they would consider a 3-night stay and he politely said no...my family is planning a trip in August 2014 for a week...just thought this could be a "cheap quickie"...ha! But, the planner in me would be too nervous to get airfare and then hope a villa opens up :shock: ...I wish I could be more "throw caution to the wind type" :lol:

A lot of the cheaper villas in Cruz Bay say on their websites that they will accept 3 or 4 night rentals. Sometimes there is an additional housekeeping fee for short stays. There are quite a few with a 4-night minimum in high season. It might be worth just paying for 4 nights at someplace like Star Villas, which are budget villas anyway so the extra night wouldn't be all that much.

* Samuel's Cottages will rent for 3 nights or less for $150/nt ($125 for 4-6, $115 for a week).

* Star Villas have a 4-night minimum in high season. They have a dozen or so properties, so they might have one that would be available for you, maybe even a 3-night opening you could fill.

* Aqua Bay villas says "There is a minimum stay of four nights; exceptions may be made with an additional housekeeping fee of $125.00."

* B&Bs (such as Garden by the Sea or Hillcrest Guest House) usually don't have minimum stays.

I have to jump in here (being from KC and all :) ) Do you really want to drive to STL, fly to STT - even if you arrive at 1:30pm you wont be on STJ until at least 3:30pm, have 2 full days on STJ and then fly home and then drive 3 hours to KC ??? Don't get me wrong, you know I love STJ as I live here, but that flight can make for a loooong day and you are height of season so rentals are expensive.

Hahaha Pia, you are a very practical women! No, I don't want to make that drive, but I do love a bargain and 263.00 pp?? I figured we could stay at a hotel the nite before the 6:00 am flight, enjoy 2.5 days then yes, Thursday would be a long day. The flight gets in at 8:30, then we wouldn't get home until midnight. In my youth, I wouldn't have cared...now, well...I haven't bought the tickets yet.
