Scroll down for the "Interior Designer Cited" story
which actually refers back to
http://newsofstjohn.com/2013/07/23/dpnr ... -property/

BUT the story is out in New York now!
AND anyone who reads the "News of St John" post, will surely read the 30 plus comments from outraged St John lovers!

Lovely....now his clients and friends will all give him grief for getting caught. They will tell him to offer larger bribes next time. Sad, but St John is slowing becoming more and more like St Thomas and the other larger islands that develop every inch.

I'm afraid that until it makes the NY Times or Wall Street Journal, his friends and clients will not read about it. What I don't understand is how the NPS is essentially allowing him to destroy those trees with little or no consequences. Can you guess what would happen to one of us if we were caught removing a single branch from a National Park tree? I guess it is true. We get all the justice we can afford to get.

Congrats to NOSJ for bringing it to the attention of a bigger audience.

I urge everyone to call the National Park headquarters in DC and report this - not sure what (if anything) the National Park on STJ is doing about this so I think it needs to go straight to the top (so to speak) and for us not to sit around and hope that the STJ division is doing something - I mean it can't hurt to bring it to their attention - maybe they already know but maybe they don't.

Thanks. Message sent.

In the beginning I actually thought the "all they can do is fine me" attitude wouldn't work when it came to the National Park but now I'm not sure because it looks like they have taken no action at all. I hope he looks at the comments here in "a little construction problem" and the posts on the News of STJ site.

I sent an email to Jon Jarvis too. Thanks for posting the information. I also sent an email to Jared McCallister (author of the NY Daily News article) thanking him for posting the article.

I was also hoping to post something scathing on Yelp or Facebook but couldn't find any reviews or entries for his business on either. I guess the super rich don't rely on social media reviews...

Any other ideas for making a public stink out of this?

I sent him 5 paragraphs just now. I resisted the urge to start of in a Saturday Night Live fashion -- "Jon, you ignorant slut..."

I wonder if someone from the Rockefeller family made a call to the appropriate person at the National Park Service re this incursion into the VINP if that would have some impact. Just in case anyone is not aware Laurence Rockefeller donated a great deal of the land for the VINP on St. John. What would he think?
Just a thought, anyone know who to raise the issue with?
