I am told by my realtor that the 4:00 CA ferry has not been running, only the 3 and 5:30. Does anyone know if this is true?

Also, we are arriving at 3:14 on the USAir flight (only because the tickets were cheap) and I'd like to make the 4:00 ferry from either CA or Red Hook. The realtor tells me that the only way this can happen is if we book a private taxi. In past visits, we haven't used a private service and had no problems.
Anyone have an opinion?

You will not make the 4:00 Red Hook. Unles you run off the plane, have no checked luggage and there is no traffic at all.

You probably can make the 4:00 downtown, but even then it is iffy with checked luggage.

I would count on taking the 5:00 Red hook and not stressing yourself out. It is just not worth running around like a crazy person.

I concur that I wouldn't stress yourself trying to rush to make that earlier ferry. Even with a private taxi, you will likely run into some "rush hour" traffic in town.

That being said, we have always gone the private taxi route and highly recommend it. It is only slightly more expensive than a regular taxi (about $20/pp) and don't make all the stops that the group taxis make.

We have really liked Freddy with Dynamic Tours. Prompt, professional, and very friendly. However, he does not work on Saturdays so we are going to use Wheatley Taxi this year. I will report back how that goes however people on this board have said good things about this company as well.

For the past 4 years I have been using the same Gentlemen for a Private Taxi. He is awesome. One phone call a week ahead of time and he is there waiting. He's super friendly and nice to deal with. If your interested in his name and number just PM me and I will send it to you.
