I'm trying to get the lay of the land for planning our day in the East End. I sometimes see Vie's mentioned together w/Hansen ie: Vie's/Hansen; and it also mentioned that there is a beach across from Vie's that her family owns that you pay her a few $$ to access. Is the beach across from Vie's that her family owns Hansen, or is Hansen before or after you reach Vie's?

We also plan to snorkel Haulover South on this same day, which I understand is before you reach Vie's.

There are bays and there are beaches. Sometimes there's more than one beach on a bay, which can be confusing. This is one of those times.

Vie's Beach is on Hansen Bay. But there is another beach right by the road that is also on Hansen's Bay but doesn't seem to have a name of its own. When people just say "Hansen's Bay" they usually mean that one. To add to the confusion, I think Haulover Beach may also be on Hansen's Bay, but I'm not sure about that one.

Heading East, Vie's is just after the tree in the middle of the road... there is a small parking lot (about where the "10" on the left is on the map) beside the snack shack, which is across the road from the gate to the beach.

As dreamshark says, it is a little confusing... there is Haulover North and also Haulover South! Once again, http://www.seestjohn.com/beaches_haulover_south.html may help you find your way!

Based on the map I have, it looks like Haulover Bay comes just before and Hansen, and from the pic (thanks, lprof) it seems like Vie's is right at the start of Hansen across the street.

My husband and I visited St John about 10 years ago and went to Vie's, but we didn't snorkel in the area as I recall we were confused about what was where!

We are returning with our kids and plan to make a day of eating at Vie's, snorkeling Haulover South, and possibly Hansen Bay (I heard Pelican Rock is good) so I am hoping to have a better lay of the land this time around!
