Help please...private charter vs. group trip!

Hi all,
I'd love some advice from all of you experts on our BVI charter options. With our August trip quickly approaching (yay!), I am starting to think about what the hubs and I may want to do for a day trip on the water. We've never snorkeled the Indians/Caves/Norman Island before, so I think that is top on our list. We have been to the baths a few times, so I think that is out since it takes so much of the day to get over that way. We've also explored much of JVD, but I don't think it would ever get old to me.
We have once done a private charter out of STT years ago, which was awesome, but of course plenty of $$$. The last time we did a group day trip, we ended up on a boat with several lovely people and one completely annoying, inconsiderate, belligerent man who drove everyone nuts all day...this coming from a girl who has a fairly high tolerance for that type of behavior! So....suggestions, advice, experience? Do most find that it is worth the extra cash to control your own day....or roll the dice and hope you end up on a boat with decent human beings who the crew doesn't have to babysit all day?
And lastly, if anyone is looking to share a charter Aug 3-8th, please do let me know! The husband and I are early 30's, laid back, like to snorkel, have a few drinks and listen to music on the beautiful VI waters (I suddenly feel like I should be writing on match.com). And as mentioned, we'd like to finally visit the Indians and Norman Island. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

If you want to set your own itinerary, do as you please, and not have to worry about anyone annoying, then definitely do your private charter. You will be more relaxed and won't be stressing about the "what ifs"...

Thanks Pam, I'm sure you are right- the relaxation factor with a private charter is probably worth the extra money!
Anyone have any favorites? And route recommendations that would get us to the caves and indians?
