Hey gang, it's been a while since I posted a trip report. Here's my write up on my sailing school trip from the beginning of the year. It took a while to finish pulling this together. Since then, sweet Christine and I have done one sailing trip in the VIs and one in the Chesapeake Bay. We have another trip to the Chesapeake planned and we're hitting the VIs again in November. Ja, sailing is fun!
The trip report is in the BVI forum:

Sounds like you are well on your way to a sabbatical. There is nothing quite like sailing in the VI.
Would you share the name of your charter company for the Chessie? Any other comments about them would be welcome.

Puddlejumper, I'm renting a 2012 Jenneau 409 from the charter side of Bay Yachts - Letsgocruising.com. They were quick to quote. I'll let you know how it goes. It's July 4 weekend, so I expect a zoo. We are sleeping aboard at the dock the night of July 3.
Cheers, RickG

" He's not about to pay $30 for a mooring ball when there are plenty of wonderful anchorages."
OMG, this made me laugh out loud! Welcome to sailing!
My step-bro and SIL are actively planning their move to the BVIs where they intend to live abroad until they get sick of it and sail to the next spot.
I enjoyed your report. I love being on a boat and reading about sailing but am far too lazy to participate in the actual sailing of a boat.

Nice BVI adventures. So, old dogs can learn new tricks.
Thanks for the write up.
