Does anyone know how reliable/consistent it is? Let's say, hypothetically, you had a chance to move there while keeping your current job and working remotely. How much of a hurdle would the connection issue be?

I am on island right now posting at my house. I have VI Broadband and it is fairly reliable. Even when the power is out, my generator kicks in and my connection stays active. I would say I'm pleased with it most of the time as I would not be able to come to the island often without being able to sustain my work.

Totally depends on where you live. I have been here seven weeks and we had a lot of issue getting our Internet up and running. Initially we had a ATT Mifi unit- actually three that did not work. They finally changed it so my phone is a hotspot for the internet connection for other devices in the house. This works well but when/if I need to do something on my phone it may be a less reliable and often I can't connect and I just sue my data plan , therefore spending more cash!
Landlord is suppose to be looking into Innovative for us now!

Sketchy. I experienced fairly good reception, consistently, on St Thomas. St John was rougher, you often get switched to the towers on Tortola...very expensive. You will need a very good generator to run your computer and I suggest a backup air card for when power goes.Power goes off a bit, every few days as the islands generators are run on gas/oil and they have to switch generators when the one running is out or low in fuel. I strongly suggest visiting and doing a lot of research on island. All the best...
