We are in early planning stages for June 2014. Probably will have 15 adults consisting of 6 couples, and 2 teens (would need twin bdr) and one single adult. We would like each bdr to have a private bth.
We have only found one 8 bdr villa-Great Expectations-that is in our price range. We are also considering combo of Sol Inclination (have stayed there before) and South Shore Villa. Are there any other great combinations like that available? Particularly around Boatman's point/Acqua Blu area. We would love to return to A.B. because of the piano and the host, Dale Miller.

Have stayed at Sol Inclination and did love that villa but the Sol/ South Shore combo will be tough. Not walkable unless you are not only agile but have great lungs. Only 2 cars can fit up top at Sol at any 1 time and then 1 in the cut off below the lower half of Sol. Even this area is a hike out and up from SS Villa. It's going to get old fast, not only the travel between them but also just walking up and down the stairs/ steps between the various parts of Sol Inclination. There is also no place to sit around the pool at Sol. Seriously reconsider this combo.
Something in the VG Estates would work nicely, like Cocotier and another, or Vista Caribe and another close by. Or if you want upscale, look at Peace and Plenty and Anole, flat walk next to each other. There are (a gazillion) beautiful villas adjacent to or across from each other on Maria Bluff. The 3 BR Colibri is my favorite, coupled with Villa Maria or another on that road. Catered To handles a lot of these , plus Vista Caribe. I am sure there is something adjacent to Aqua Blu that will fit your needs.

We have stayed at Acqua Blu as well....and Dale is a super guy! Can't find anyone nicer or more helpful. There is a home just up at the end of his driveway to AB...think it is called Stone House. He could tell you about it...He keeps an eye on it for the owner ...or...did when we stayed at his home last year. It is a very easy walk. Hope this helps.

We stayed here last year. Very good location. Although only says 7BR and 7BA, might be a configuration you can do to accomodate another. It's 2 separate houses (villa and cottage) that can be rented together. Good luck!

Caribbean Villa used to have a page with villa combinations. They don't have that page anymore but it's in the Wayback Machine here:
http://web.archive.org/web/200904260808 ... combo.html
You don't need as many rooms as some of these combos, but you could try for 2 near each other. Some of the villas might not be on the rental market any more or the names may have changed, but I thought it might be worth a look.
Here's a snapshot of the page:

Destination St John has several villas that are adjacent. They have been very helpful to us and I am sure they could help you too.

I would seriously consider this villa. It is SO close to town and there is plenty of areas for parking. Figure out in advance and decide who stays in which building.
Happy Planning!

Thank you, everyone, for all the great input.

Yes, moving back and forth from Sol Inclination to South Shore Villa is only for the young and fit. South Shore villa has a large great room and a good space around the pool, so I would let the grandkids and their friends trek up the mountain!
I had not considered the Maria Bluff area, but I like the location so will definitely check out villas there.
I think my dear husband would like to go upscale, like La Susa in Peter Bay, but it is only 6 bdr. So Catherineberg area would be great too.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked out Stone Court and unfortunately, it is only 2 bedroom. When we get a firm date we may check with Dale and see if he has any other options nearby.

Thank you for the screen snapshot. I had googled combo villas but nothing turned up. This, along with Sherban's villa map, will be a great help!

Will for sure check out Tennis Villa and Cottage. My husband is insisting on 8 bdr each with private bath though, so it may not work for us. How is the view there?
We are enjoying the villa search process, the combinations are endless!

Funny you should say that about La Susa. We actually stayed there in 2005. Once in a lifetime trip with about 15 family members. If you have the means, do it. You will never find a more perfect villa. The view has to rank as one of the top 2 or 3 on the island. Everything and I mean everything is either mahogany, stone, native shells, and coral. I felt like a celebrity for a week.
The view at Tennis Villa and Cottage was great. It will all depend on whether or not they've trimmed the trees and vegetation. When we were there it was a little overgrown so it was partially obstructed but still gave a clear view to Chocolate Hole. I don't know who is traveling with you but we traveled with five 20 somethings so the cottage was perfect for them to do their own thing. They even had their own pool. But it was still a short walk up a path to the main house. It's also right next to the Westin so there was a side road that took you all the way down to the beach at the Westin. Keep us posted on what you choose!

My wife and i got married in St John 10 years ago (38 people), have returned almost every year since and stayed at St John Inn, Westin, Great Expectations and even a sailboat.
Just last October we celebrated our 10th anniversary with 15 other people and most of them stayed at Great Expecations with us (we ran out of room, so we also rented the villa just down the hill). I did the entire trip as a surprise to my wife and most of the couples did not know each other. It was an incredible success and everyone said they could not believe how easy it was to be at the villa, enjoying the new pool and relaxing with views all around. They all commented how well they slept every night. Twelve of the 15 of them were new to St John.
One of our favorite things are the massive views east, south and west and the breezes always blowing through the screens and across the patios. We never even use the air conditioning.
Putting our money where our love is, 3 of the couples from last October are returning with us next March for another trip, to Great Expectations.
