Hi,
we like to cook ourselves so
is it possible to buy fresh Fish from the Fischermen who bring Fish to ashore in St Thomas?

On St. Thomas, I have sometimes been able to buy fish on the east end at the marinas at Red Hook (American Yacht Harbor) and Sapphire. There is really not a lot of commercial fishing done, but the sport fishing boats that come back will sometimes sell fish on the dock. I would go in the late afternoon when the boats are coming back in and just ask. There is a local guy who you may also be able to get lobsters from - I think his name is Winston, but you will have to ask around.

Try Wahoo if you can - excellent meaty white fish.

I have purchased Mahi from the Double Header that docks at the Sapphire Beach Marina. I have the advantage of being able to watch for its return from my condo balcony. It's priced low and they will fillet it for you.

We have also purchased from the Double Header guys. You just watch for their boat to come in from fishing in the later afternoon. Then walk down to the dock and kind of hang around a little until the charter passengers have left. Then approach the boat and ask if they will have some extra catch of the day that they will sell you.
