Open mic night at the Sun Dog Cafe

I have to admit that I avoided this for way too long, assuming that it consisted of one at a time amateur acts. Wow, did I get that wrong! Anyway, since last fall, we have always tried to make it to the Wednesday Open Mic Nights at the Sun Dog Cafe. Rollicking great music, with up to a dozen highly talented local musicians jamming together, along with great visiting musicians who are here on vacation. It's hosted by Mark Wallace and Lauren Jones, and if you are in the Cruz Bay area on a Wednesday evening, do swing by Mongoose and check it out! Sun Dog serves up great food from a mighty small space, and the affiliated Gecko Gazebo supplies the drinks. The music runs from 7:30 to 10 PM or a bit more. Here's a link to Sun Dog's page, followed by a YouTube video I just uploaded of "A Simple Twist of Fate", from Wednesday, April 17th, with a nice mandolin solo by Jay Keefe. Enjoy!
