logistics of day trip to Jost?

Any advice/experiences of a daytrip to Jost would be appreciated. Two of us plan to take the ferry over for just a day trip, we want to take a hike or walk first, eat lunch at Foxy's maybe, then beach/cocktails till ferry back. Any advice on hiking/walking trails, and how best to get to them? Also on how to get around to various places, just taxi it? Thanks for any input on how to best get in our day!!
