Leinster drift or pelican rock?

Trying to figure out Tuesday's plan! Today we hit Haulover North (fantastic!) and planned to do pelican rock afterwards, but I cut my face up and need to keep dry for a couple of days. Tomorrow is Reef Bay hike, so I should be good by Tuesday, but now we have to choose one of the two. Which would you choose?
Also, are there any concers with Leinster? Can the water level be too low? I'm sure that's the funniest question ever, but I've read that it's a very shallow snorkel...
Thanks, forum!

Oh no.... an injury to the face? Did you happen to scape on a shallow snorkel?
Sorry, don't know about either of those snorkels.

Sorry Minde, sounds like there is a story there.
We have never done Pelican so I have no comparison. But I saw my first turtle in Leinster Bay so I will always have a soft spot for that area. Also, the hike up past the bay is awesome with some cool ruins and views, views, views.
Hope you get feeling better.

Sorry to hear about your accident. As for your plans, you are breaking our collective hearts with all those tough choices!

I don't want to tell you about the choices I'll have to make Tuesday.
Although I will be in Madison, and I get a chance to have dinner with Tracy from WI and her family.

We thought about going to Shipwreck Landing, but she says it's too far from her house.

Hope the cut will heal quickly, Minde. I had an open wound once on St. John (even visited the clinic there) - it's a pesky thing to have during a vacation in the Tropics.
When you say "Leinster drift", I assume you are referring to the spot about half way into the hike to Leinster beach. There are some very shallow areas close to the shore, as well as relatively shallow to deeper areas farther away from the shore (there is an underwater ledge that runs parallel to the shoreline). Don't worry too much about the very shallow areas. It’s not like you "have to" swim through them. Corals are more abundant there - that’s why you want to snorkel around there. You can navigate using arms (no kicking or knee bending) as much as you can and, whenever you start feeling uncomfortable, you can swim away towards deeper water.
Pelican Rock is fun especially if you can free dive. Somehow we've always ended up being out there when the water was rather choppy and the visibility was so-so. Only once did we have a great snorkeling.

"I cut my face up" - yikes, hope you're all right. That just sounds like all kinds of not good. But we can spin this...as your publicist, I'm going to recommend we tell the press one that you did one of the following:
A) Kissed a barracuda
B) Decided to pierce nose with speargun
C) Practiced synchronized swim routine with wild boar at Haulover North
All very plausible.
Get better soon.

Thanks for the well wishes I have no idea what I cut it on. Could have been my fingernails, even. My skin is very, very paper thin (medical thing) and I take blood thinners, so it's hard to get bleeding stopped. It's mortifying when this happens - looks dramatic but isn't really.
54b - any of those are better than the truth!
Pickle - thanks that's what I was looking for. We're gonna spend the day at Pool Beach, so my face can heal for Wednesday - our day with Pam Gaffin!
