Hi - Any pros/cons about renting from this company? Their rates seem to be the cheapest but cheapest is not always the best! Do they have a large parking lot in town that is available on weekends for their customers? Good selection of vehicles?

Thanks for your feedback.

We used them our first trip and will be using them again on this one. Vehicles are in good shape and they do have a lot you can use when in town. Very convenient.

We love Conrad Sutton's company. We have been using them since 1997 - 10 out of 12 times. His daughters Carmen and Susan are great. In order to get great service, just start with "Good Day, how are you?" and the smiles get turned on. Rudeness is met with a cold stare.

We got a Jeep Liberty for the first time last week. It worked just fine. We've used the Monteros in the past and they worked well for 5 adults, and can fit 7 people with no luggage. The Monteros are getting pretty old.

Parking in the lot is available, but works best in the evenings. Backing-in is recommended. We used Slim-man's parking in town during the day - too convenient.

Cheers, RickG

We rented from him April 28th thru May 5th. We did not have any problems. I had heard they could be rude, but we didn't have that problem. Of course my brother-in-law is a charmer and everyone is nice to him. (Except me). They have free parking, small lot and you have to leave the drivers door unlocked and key under the mat. They have to move cars around. We did clean the car of any sand before returning it. I don't know if that would have been an issue. We rented a Montero for the six of us. It sat seven and we had room for all of luggage.

It is warmer in NH than St John today. And where would I rather be?

I have had great experiences with Carmen and Conrad. Both have been more than pleasant, though Mr. Sutton does expect you to treat his cars well.

He takes excellent care of his vehicles and I've always found them in great condition. We go for the liberty every time.

The lot is tight and the drive up and out is steep, you have to be careful. However, it is really nice to have a spot to park in town. I like his location. We've never had a problem with the key under the mat situation. Have come back to have the car in a new parking spot, but we're ok with that.

That's a major drag. I'd feel the same. I've heard similar stories about most of the car rental places. One place I have NOT head complaints about is Penn's.

We have had nothing but fantastic service/vehicles from Conrad Sutton's. Mr. Sutton, Gladys, Carmen, Susan...all very helpful and genuine. You just have to be genuine to them. It's all about respect. You give a little, they will give it back to you in spades!

I would not ever rent elsewhere.

If you don't mind the slight possibility that your car will be locked when you get back to it (at some ungodly hour), and you will have no one to call or any way to get in touch with Conrad or any of his employees...then leave the car unlocked in his lot with the keys in it.

That being said, we did get the money for the locksmith back, eventually, after AMEX called Conrad, and he had his rude verbal way with me.

Is it at all possible that you simply locked your keys in the car? Conrad asks that you leave the car unlocked with the keys in it so that he can move cars about the lot, if need be.

We often have parked in the lot, only to be pleasantly surprised upon returning to the car at the end of the night by his having parked it on the street for us.

We always have had a good experience renting from them.

Nope, it was our first time leaving the car in the lot. There were four of us and we were all very careful about what we were doing.

The car had also been moved to a different parking spot.
Well, then, it sounds as though they made a mistake. I did that once.

It does sound like that sucked and that they made a mistake. I have to reiterate, though, that we have had nothing but good experiences with them. Sorry you had a bad one.
