Vacation is almost over.....

I started a lil joke with our SJT travel friends that included me saying "Vacation is almost over" on the first night at our villa looking over to St Thomas as the lights twinkled over the water. When I was asked what I meant by my comment, I said; " After looking forward to this trip for so long, being here means that in 10 days the Vacation is almost over." I found research on a travel magazine that says that more than 50% of a trip happens in our mind...and I do agree.

hence, the comment " Vacation is almost over". My wife will even say; " you seem meloncolony tonight on our first nght(she also says you seem a lil intoxicated)...to which I say; it's over in 10 days...LOOL. Mind you those 10 days are some of the most fun we have as a family or will ever have.

I agree with alot of what you said.
We try to continue the vacation in our minds after it is over also. The week after our last trip Hoosiermommy and I wrote out a travel journal. It was interesting to see how many specific details we could recall one week after getting home. Digital pictures also help keep the trip going after you get home. There are alot of things we do with our picture. We make a picture book on shutterfly and have some of the prints hanging in our home and in my office.
