Here now. Current thoughts

We are mid way into our trip.

Our thoughts so far-

Loving Sam and Jack's deli for take out sandwiches.

Had a fantastic day snorkeling and hanging out at Vie's today.

Weather was so cool Friday that I wished for a long sleeve shirt on the beach at noon.

Totally baked in the sun today.

Holy cow the rain on Feb 11th!!!!!! It pored buckets that afternoon.

Joe's Rum Hut happy hour is the ultimate bargain at $3 a drink.

Muto Bar is great. Very relaxing alternative to the Beach Bar. great view, good cocktails and plenty of room to,relax.

7 yo son is very close to catching the neighborhood roasters. What do I do when he does capture one? He wants to either take it to town or,cook it.

Sounds like a great time! For the record, though, re: "Joe's Rum Hut happy hour is the ultimate bargain at $3 a drink", allow me to point out that "well drinks" at Woody's are a remarkable $1 from 3 PM till the ship's bell rings at 6 PM! I was a little baffled about the well drink concept at first... healthy/energy drinks? Carrot juice? I'm clearly not a bar hound! They are, as it happens, a single alcohol and a single other, with no-name brands from the "well" just below the bar (generic house booze, not the pricy stuff on the upper bar shelves). Think "rum and coke", "gin and tonic", etc. A "rum punch" technically has four components, (one part sour, two parts sweet, three parts strong, and four parts weak), and so wouldn't qualify, but "rum AND punch" just might, if they heard you correctly. This great deal on "well drinks" may be common knowledge, but it took a while until I finally caught on, and then understood why the afternoon population there tends to spill out onto the road. Even if you splurge on a 100% tip now and then, you're still out all of two bucks. By the way, their "Express Window" is a gas, and can make for a nice photo-op.

Oh, and the roosters don't expend any more energy than they need to. The closer your son gets, though, the faster they will go, so I don't think that you need worry on that score.

All the best,

Kevin

THANK YOU for explaining "well drinks." That's been a mystery for me for a while.

Jealous of anyone on island now. I could really use a dose of blue water and sand. No trip in my immediate future.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Since hubby is in the booze business I always ask what the well liquor is. Some places may surprise you with a very acceptable and well known label and you can save money.

He has a box in the kitchen ready to go! This kiddo actually has roaster and chicken catching experience under his belt. He told me today "I need to herd them over by the wall...."

We intended to do Caneel for sushi the other day but things went sideways on us. we plan to go tomorrow.

Absolutely great day today with capt John/palm tree charters.
