Just wanted to get any suggestions on the need for water shoes.
Should I bring them from home or can I get a reasonably priced pair in Cruz Bay?

I thought I would need them because of issues I have with my foot, but once I got to STJ, found that I never used them, so now I leave them at home.

We always bring them and only use them for getting into the water where there are urchins (like Haulover North or Waterlemon). I wouldn't wait and buy them there. I'm not sure where you'd buy them to tell you the truth.

We bought some at Cruz Bay watersports in April, but I didn't bring them for this trip cause I thought my sandals did a better job of protecting my feet. The bottoms on these didn't seem impermeable. They weren't expensive, though - less than $20.

I bring mine from home, I used them as walking shoes to hike out to Leinster then used them in the water where there was not a sandy bottom, I presume they will be expensive if you can find them at all on island. Hope this helps!

I made sure to bring some this last trip, and never wore them. Just wore my flip flops for walking at Leinster, etc.. I did notice they had some at the shop at Motu for about $25. You can totally get by without any though, unless you are going to be doing some serious hiking or getting into the water where it is really rocky or has urchins. We never did though~
