Help us pick a villa please

It has been a few years since we've been to STJ. We have decided to return with our four kids next December/January (yes, high peak season). Here is what we are looking for:
Four bedrooms or three bedrooms with two of them having double beds.
Large pool with ample deck space for six to lounge around, some shade areas around the pool a plus OR if there is a sitting area near the pool that is shaded, that would be fine.
Outside dining area, under cover, for six
All day sunny pool
Available for 9 or 10 days just after Christmas
Less than 10K/week
We have a hold on Viaggi but are concerned about the pool area being a bit small and no outside dining area under cover. Unless someone has been there recently, I'm not getting any new information on it since their remodeling.
Thank you!!!

I stayed at Golden Dragon about 5 years ago. While there is no covered outside area, we moved the umbrella table from a side area to the pool deck, which gave us the covered space some people wanted. I think the deck space if fine for 6 people, and it has a great outbuilding with a small bar/kitchen for poolside drinks. The villa is luxurious and beautiful and the bedrooms (particularly the top bedroom of the bedroom pod) are very romantic with awesome bathrooms. There are a LOT of steps down to the villa/up to the car if that is an issue for anyone in your party. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

It meets all your criteria if 2 of the kids can share a King size bed.... or maybe they can arrange for an extra bed somehow! Great pool and view!Available and in your price range!

Vida de Mar

Amazing villa... a bit over budget but they might be willing to work with you if you book this far ahead. Contact the owners directly rather than using one of the other sites. We stayed there over The holidays 3 years ago and I believe she discounted it a bit since we booked with her and stayed 10 days.

La Papaya in Chocolate Hole fits all your needs easily! It's truly a wonderful property.
Google destination St. John to see it

I didn't realize that Golden Dragon had changed names, though I know it had been on the market for awhile so I suppose it's under new ownership? I've always thought it looked really nice.

Something to think about, we plan to go back July 2014 however will stay in town primary so that the kids can have the ability to roam around town in the evening without having to worry about how they're going to get back to the villa. I.e. this gives them the ability to have some fun without being tied to their parents.

We love Island Sun in Catherineberg. Easy to get to as it is not " down the hill". You would never need AC there in Dec- January. Also thinking Peace and Plenty. Have not looked T winter rates, though.

Hi Mrs. Pete
I would seriously consider the pool temperature when choosing a villa. The sun sets further North that time of year, and villa pools don't get as much sunshine. We were on island a few years back in mid January and a Southwest facing pool was refreshing, but chilly.
I have said that if we go back in Winter we will get a heated pool. Just a thought for you gal.
Happy you guys are going back with all the kiddos

I have contacted her and she's willing to work with us on pricing. One quick question, is the pool warm enough to swim in at that time of year? (Thank you, Jan, for pointing out that potential issue! We've never gone to STJ in the winter before.)

This may be a bit pricey, but it's got a great outdoor area! Also close to town
Have fun planning!

Re: Vida De Mar
We spent a lot of time in the pool so it must have been warm enough. It seems there was sun all afternoon.
The kids also swam and snorkeled in the ocean that was just below the house!
Ask if any other questions! We loved this house. My kids are all grown so the separate bedroom suites was perfect!
