My daughter wants to know where to get a good roti on STJ. We were on Tortola last year and she loved them. Especially at the Jolly Roger.

Roti is a Caribbean dish that is kind of like a wrap or a burrito- with different things inside - chicken curry, veggies, etc. I am sure that Miss Lucy's would have it - and I would assume it would be yummy there too.
ENJOY!!!

You are right. They do have rotis at Miss Lucy's. They are good but not quite as good as you can get on Tortola or Jost. IMHO

Sputnick's in Coral Bay, next to Donkey Diner. Very inexpensive and authentic. For a more upscale version, but worth it, Sweet Plantains.

YUMMY!! I love Roti my fav by far! Keep the Mahi Mahi. The Soggy dollar bar makes a good Roti and the chutney they serve with it is wow. Marina Cay is not too bad. I too would love to know where I can get some on STJ and STT! I wait and wait to get to the Soggy so I can get it. 1 of 4

My vote is for Foxy's on Jost Van Dyke-
I know it's not St. John....
We always waited till our sailing day for the roti.
here's a recipe for home use
Curried Chicken Filling
2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized cubes
1 clove garlic, chopped
2 scallions, finely chopped
½½ teaspoon chopped hot pepper
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon curry powder
1 ½½ teaspoons black pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
Combine all ingredients except oil and water in a large mixing bowl. Mix well. Marinate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, in the refrigerator. When ready to prepare, heat oil medium-high in a fry pan. Add the chicken mixture and cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Add water, then cook on low for about 5 minutes, or until chicken is tender. Fold 2 to 3 tablespoons of filling inside each roti bread; serve immediately.
Makes 6 servings. Per serving: 150 calories, 7 gms fat (44 percent fat calories), 48 mg cholesterol, 400 mg sodium.

I second Foxies if you happen to get over there. It is awesome and only like $11.00, plus you can easily get to White Bay from there. It doesn't get much better.

I third Foxy's chicken roti. Quite tasty. There are a couple of spots in Road Town that are great for a quick Roti lunch.
Does Hercules in Cruz Bay do roti? I love the pate and johnny cake there....
Cheers, RickG
