Hi all,
#1- Does anyone recall the jeep rental company on STJ where you can park your jeep in their lot when you are in town?
#2-I know this has been discussed many times before but can you please refresh my memory (I think her name is Rachel??) that will pick you on at the airport and drop you at Redhook? If anyone has her phone # I would appreciate it.
Thanks very much!
Terry

We've always rented from St. John Car Rental:

http://www.stjohncarrental.com/

They let you park in their lot when there is space which is most of the time.

We've used courtesy and Conrad suttons and you can park in their lots, but Conrad can get full so it's not always a guaranteed space

See you have Rachel 's number. We always rent from Denzel Clyne, up near Mongoose. Convenient to park in his lot to go to anyplace at Mongoose, the National Park Dock, Morgan's Mango andthe ferry to Jost. Short walk to Wharfside, the Beach Bar and Lime Inn. Ask for Brenda@ 340 776 6715. Firmed up our plans with Denzel and Rachel just this morning.

The one time we used Conrad Sutton's the lot was always full when we tried to use it and it was off season. He also had an extremely disagreeable woman manning the office who won't ever get ME to go back there! We've used a variety of other rentals without any problem but no in town parking. Since we normally go during the off season it hasn't been a huge issue.

Just to throw this out there, this is the lot we go to first to look for parking!!! (even though we don't rent there, there is parking available a lot of the times!! Have to squeeze in, but it is doable!!!)

I put up with the disagreeable woman (Mrs. Sutton) for 25 years until she struck out at my married daughter and family 3 years ago. I've brought a lot of business to Conrad and now I go to C&C who not only treats us like we expect but they also give us a 10% discount for being repeat customers. I'd rather pay Slimman $10.00 to park than go back to Conrad. I could park at C&C but Slimman is more convenient and very pleasant.

We used to have threads like this all the time. We rented from Sutton one time. we were able to park in their lot. The problem was that I came back to the lot to get the car one day and found that he had stripped parts off of our car to fix another one. Sutton told me to come back in an hour. That was an hour of beach time that we'll never get back. The Jeep has no rear window. They told me that they had nothing else for us. When I returned the car and mentioned the rear window, she became irate. She also insisted that I could have traded it in at any time. There are too many other companies to put up with that kind of thing. We have used St John Car Rental since.

Thanks for the collective wisdom, now I know whom to overlook when looking for a jeep, good to know.

We have rented from Varlack and they allow you to park right in front of their building. Of course, the parking is on the side walk........ LOL but it works! :D

We've always used Bougainvillea Jeep Rental (http://stjohnjeeps.com/) owned by the Schnells. Their office is at their store in Amore Center. They have parking in front of the center and its a couple block walk down to Wharfside. We've never had a problem finding a spot during the day or evening. They are very friendly and accommodating when we've arrived late in the evening. We highly recommend them!

Rachel...definitely! We've used her twice (though the first time she was in Florida with her brother) and LOVE her.

As for your Jeep...you have some good info, but I want to throw out there that we absolutely LOVE the Suttons. This June will be our 4th year to rent from them (always in June or early July) and they are always the nicest people to not only do business with but just to chat with. We've always had space available to park. I am absolutely sure we'd have a great experience using one of the other rental agencies on St. John, but find the Sutton's a pleasure to deal with.
