Need suggestions for time frame 10-2 with friend from cruise

We will already be on island when a friend traveling by self will be meeting us for short time. 10-2.(from cruise) We have a jeep to get around. She is bringing snorkel. I thought maybe we would park at Annaberg, do the snorkel at mooring balls, go to Frances but then she wants to eat in Cruz bay. We never eat lunch there or at least waterfront. What would be your choice for waterfront lunch? Any other ideas for morning snorkel on North Shore?

High Tide is good, or JJ's. then she is right by the ferry dock to go back on the ferry.

If it's her first time on the island you have to go to Trunk Bay. I know it's the tourist spot but if you've never gone you really miss out. I think alot of locals kind of forget about Trunk just because they try and avoid the tourist. The fact that you have limited time with your friend also lends itself to choosing Trunk. It is closer to town than many other bays.

For lunch? The Beach Bar! Painkillers with shrimp and fries! CMON! It's the islands not NY City!

On my blog are some pictures of Trunk Bay. Maybe it will help you decide.

I didn't realize she had visited St John before.

Then I would agree that Anneberg and either Francis or Maho. Maho has great snorkeling and is one of my favorite St John bays.
Too bad her time is so limited because the east end has so much to offer as well.

Still I would choose the Beach Bar for quick grub and drinks at lunch time....

Does her cruise ship provide direct transportation to St. John? If not, your schedule could be compressed; grab n go fried chicken at Joe's Diner maybe, and then Hawksnest or the trail to Salomon. We had relatives whose cruise ship stopped in St. Thomas last year; they had planned to visit St. John, come up and check out our place, etc, but were actively discouraged from trying by the ship's personnel. They claimed that it took a while just to get off the ship and back on again, and that by the time you added in traveling on their own, it wouldn't be worth it. They might have been anchored in the bay rather than at a dock, though; tenders really slow things down.

Thanks Dan,
I agree I wish she had more time because we stay on Coral bay side. So much to see so little time. I also thought Gibney beach and snorkel to Hawknest?

Thanks for lunch suggestions we are more sandwich people on the beach so except for lunch for us at Sun Dogs or Ocean grill or Deli grotto it will be a new experience. I just though lunch with a view would be nice.

She says she is the only ship in port that day. She is there from 8-5 so I compressed times to allow her to get there and back safely in time constraints. Hopefully!! She is a very seasoned independent traveler that we met 6 years ago on a Tahiti cruise. Looking forward to seeing her even if for a short time.

If she arranges for Rachel to pick her up at 8 or 8:15, she can make the CA ferry if there is one or the RH 9 am ferry. Then she can arrange for Rachel to meet her at a the afternoon ferry - 3 pm at RH or a CA ferry if there is one - and make it back to her ship in plenty of time. That would give her a 9:30 to 3:00 window on STJ.

What about Honeymoon? Lunch on the beach there or at Caneel?

We had friends come over from a cruise boat. They met us via a taxi at Maho and we provided beverages from the villa. I would suggest picking up a variety of sandwiches from Sam and Jacks to share at the beach. People can snorkel at their leisure and hang at the beach with a beer or cocktail in the water or on the beach! We had a blast as did our guests!!

Forgot to mention, they just pre-arranged the the taxi driver to pick them up at Maho at a certain time. We said our sad good byes, but then we didn't have to leave.. Although I love Leinster, I think on your guests short time frame, the drive is kind of long. Have a blast whatever you decide!
