Flight change -Merry Christmas to me!

With all the woe about flight changes, thought I'd share a good one...
AA changed our flight times for our spring trip - we now arrive 1.5 hours earlier and leave 1 hour later.
An extra 2.5 hours on the rock - a good Christmas present I say.

That's a good change! Where do you fly out of? Seems like I remember you drove to ORD or are you using GRR? We've flown two times out of ORD because GRR has gotten so pricey. For our upcoming trip we were able to go free on Delta using credit card points and booking way back in April.

I hate flying out of O'Hare - we leave from Detroit - only a couple bucks more. The cost from GRR is ridiculous. We can find park and fly rates in DTW that are reasonable as we always spend the night and leave on the earliest flight, and It's so much easier to get to than ORD.
Sherry was able to get her flight free with points, but I didn't have enough
