cell phone use on STT

Post by kma27 »

I just switched from Verizon to AT&T; I remember seeing that AT&T has towers in the USVI...that said, will it cost me to text and/or call on my cell phone while on STT or does that depend upon my type of plan that I have? Thanks for any advice you can lend.

My experience has been that ATT provides very good service on STT. You need to check with them before you leave to see what your plan will allow while there. Texting and data may be an additional cost.

The big risk is when you are on the BVI side of either STT or STJ. You may pick up a BVI tower and get international charges. We were charged over $40 for two calls on one trip. When the bill arrived, I called them. I told them that I was told we would not get charges like this. They found the note from my pretrip call and gave me full credit.

Have a great trip

Your ATT plan will still cover you throughout the USVIs. I lived there for awhile and never had an additional charge.
