Maybe this will answer the question of "where to get subs/sandwiches on the Coral Bay side of the island?"

It makes me sad to think the the owner of Donkey Diner wants to go upscale- how can you have Donkey Mess ( my all time fav breakfast ) and Chicken Marsala on the same menu?

Has anyone eaten here since the new owners took over? That is one of the places I plan to go when we return in a few weeks and I hope it's the same as it used to be. Anyone have any insight???

This is one place I have yet to visit.
I would like more info on this subject -
"Some longtime local customers were unhappy with Borowiec’s effort to rid the kitchen of free ranging chickens. “Out in the yard with the tables, they’re part of the ambience” he agreed, “But they have no place inside.” He’s now trying to keep the fowl at bay with less aggressive measures."
What was he doing to the kitchen chickens? Trapping them? Shooting them? A chicken chasing dog?

We had a pizza there mid afternoon, November 14; we had not been there for three years, so I am not sure who the owner that day was... new or old.
The restaurant looked about the same... maybe more picnic tables out front... didn't see the back or donkeys or chickens. The dining room was very clean, windows were open and the breezes were wonderfully cooling and refreshing.
Two other couples were at another table; all of us ordered pizza which seemed to take a while and came out one at a time (three). Our pizza was the Donkey Supreme and it was excellent, with nice garlic tones! Wish I were there having some right now!
