We are thinking about doing a day trip to The Cave/Indians, east side of JVD, Sandy Spit, and White Bay. We would like to see more of the island than we can do by ferry and being on a boat most of the day sounds pretty fun too. Anyone have any experience with Lion in Da Sun or this trip in particular?

Here is a report from "another" forum (I won't say which one Anthony :) )

"We just returned (yesterday) form a first time visit to STJ. Stayed with our 2 kids (10,13) in a private rental home in Coral Bay and chartered a day motor boat trip w/ Lion in Da Sun. I can say we spent the majority of the vacation snorkeling, swimming and hiking. The trip witrh Josh, one of the two young bothers that is starting up this charter boat business, was a wonderful surprise.

Nice guy, smart, friendly, courteous and great with kids.

We did Norman, Peter, Indians (the best...spend an extra loop around these), JVD and the Sandy Spit/Cay Isles.

I'd do it again. $475/day + $120 for gas."

I hear nothing but good things about them but have not experienced a trip with them personally.

Hope this helps

Hi Pia, thanks, that helps. I also got a very quick response to my e-mail. Just as an FYI for others who might be interested, it is booked through Maho Bay Camps. They have a Tuesday trip each week that you can sign up for. It is $125pp plus custom fees and lunch. Another nice thing is that they would pick us up at Cruz Bay. Thay also do as Friday trip as above to Virgin Gorda and some snorkel stops for $135pp. The boat only holds 6 people. I think I will have to make up my mind soon and check for availability.
