STJ Tradewinds articles

There are 2 interesting articles by Jaime Eliot in the Tradewinds newspaper which can be accessed online at stjohntradewindsnews.com - on pg.1 a report on the Maho Bay campground sale progress posted 11/23 and on pg.3 a report on the development property for sale on Lovango Cay posted 11/11.
They are both worth reading and this upcoming year may well be the last chance to visit and see these locations as they currently exist and before they are changed forever.
I realize that this is private property and can be developed as the owner wishes within legal limits and only mention it so that the many people who appreciate the existing natural beauty of STJ can be aware of planned future changes and take advantage of visiting the places that are here now but slated to disappear sooner than later.

This is one of the reasons I stayed in Maho in late spring of this year. Besides being an inexpensive place to stay, it is also very unique, interesting and fun. And I wanted to experience it before it disappeared. So very glad I did!
It will be a very sad day when Maho's "doors" are closed for good. And I dread what will come to take it's place. But I'm crossing my fingers that whoever buys this land will treat it with respect and keep it available to the average Joe & Jane. Kenny Chesney, are you listening! :)

Thanks for sharing. I used to read Tradewinds all the time but got out of the habit.

Unless we win the lottery and can suddenly afford another trip this year I don't think we'll see Maho Camps ever again :(
