Just getting back around to finishing this year's trip report.
I've been on a hiatus, so here are links to my previous days:

Day 6 http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/v ... 25#p266311
Woke up around 8am. Went upstairs for breakfast (coffee, granola bar), and watched The Today Show for a little while.
We were at Dennis around 10am. HOT hike down, as usual. Didn't snorkel this time. Dennis always seems too rough to snorkel to me. Is it just me?!? I read magazines, and walked from one end to the other, and got some great pictures. Dennis is one of my FAVORITE beaches to take pictures at.

We decided to leave and go into town around 1:15. Another HOT, hard hike up. Enjoyed the hermits catapulting themselves down the trail, as usual.

We headed to the Lumberyard to get refills for our gallons of water (75 cents / gallon / refill, I think). SCARIEST thing ever that we have experienced thus far on STJ. An older man (taxi cab driver, I think) hit a younger guy on his head with the flat side of his machete. It sounded (and looked) painful. Not sure why he did that, but I suppose he had a reason....?!?
Anyway, we were ready to skedaddle after that, so we headed to the Marketplace (Starfish) where we spent over $200 on groceries. Thought David left his credit card at the house (!!!), but luckily, it was in the car. Whew.
Here's what $200 on STJ looks like.

After we unpacked the groceries, we jumped in the pool, then showered, and then fixed dinner. Steak, romaine lettuce (both on the grill), and potatoes. YUM!

We went downstairs to bed around 10pm. I went to move something on the bedside table, and out jumped a lizard. I know, I know. I'm freaked out by lizards for some reason. They're fast and sneaky. A deadly combiniation in my mind. So it took a while for David to get him out. Then, of course, I couldn't fall asleep since I was imagining more and more lizards in bed with us, as well as thoughts of machete man creeping in my mind. Crazy, I say. Not a good sleep night. Oh well. There's always tomorrow!
