Four villas that have my attention. Which one should I go for?
Amarilla Villa
Casa Bueno
Villa Tiffany
Island Horizons
They all look so nice. Any comments or advice to help out with my decision. Originally there were four of us, now I am thinking of bringing the babysitter so mama and I can do a few things together to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Thanks

i know amarilla is lovely-- folks rave about it -- i have stayed at tiffany and the view is amazing -- it is also lovely-- the layout (if you need three bedrooms) is a bit wonky -- not sure about the others (though bueno recv' raves too)

We stayed at Island Horizons about 5 years ago! While it is a great villa and the views are fabulous, there are LOTS of stairs! 2 flights just down TO the villa (you park above the villa), then 2 flights to pool and one of the bedroom suites. That got REAL old after 10 days. We were there in early December and the pool got only early morning sun so therefore was freezing!!

Agree on Island Horizons. Same story here. 3 couples stayed. LOVED the view. Great for morning coffee and after dinner drinks and conversation. Villa is very nice. Driveway is very steep, but we got accustomed to that very quickly. The stairs, though are a pain - especially to the pool. We were there in February and only 1 person used the pool the entire week because it was cold and inconvenient to the rest of the property.
Good Luck! Have Fun!

We stayed in Amarilla in June for my birthday with my family of four( two boys age 19 and 21and hubby of course. Then we were lucky enough to stay in Casa Bueno about two weeks ago with two new couples! Both have their own advantages but both hubby and I agree it depends on what your priorities are! We love snorkeling and casa bueno is centrally located for everything whereas AV is a bit further out and a little more remote. Pool goes to to AV which also has the hot tub, houses were both great but I have to give it to AV - it was spectacular and there was nothing we ever needed( CB had very limited Tupperware for leftovers as wells other little things. I loved the Bird feeders at CB for the banaquits and as they were open circles with a clear bowl so the view of the birds was never obstructed, the feeder at AV was a true bird house so although I got beautiful pictures including one if a bird in my cocktail, it took a lot of time and patience!
The views were spectacular from both as we're the sunsets! Beds were good at both- but I personally thought pillow selection was better at AM although CB had more - they were just all they same kinds. For having a solar heater, CB pool was chilly for all of the majority of days- even after we asked manager and he adjusted it because it had been lowered. CB had a DVR.
Can't say anything about the other two villas as haven't been- hope that givens you some constructive criticisms to help your decision making -saying all of that - they both are beautiful! If you need any more info , please feel free to ask!!
Have fun deciding
Ps how old is your little one ? The inside stairs at CB might be an issue of concern- they are steep and circular. ( plus stairs up to house)

Island Horizons was unbelievably breathtaking. Hard to choose from villa to villa, they're mostly cliffside with steep driveways and / or stairs....PM me for a more personal account. The homes location is perfect, and the home itself is perfect. Clean and roomy.
Had a wonderful stay there in 2008. Spacious in all ways, yet private as well between bedrooms. I would definately stay there again.
Good luck, and always

Thank you all for your reviews. I keep thinking that I know which one I would like and then I flip flop again. They are all so nice. CB was my favorite layout because all the bedrooms were on the same floor. AV seems so nice with the pool, hot tub, and fanatastic views but I don't know about having the third bedroom away from the other two. I am a hawk when it comes to watching my children and I have some concerns about being separated from them at AV. They are both above my desired price range but this is my tenth wedding anniversary, my wife has never traveled to a location like this before and quite frankly, I don't know when I will be able to do it again. Therefore, I have increased my budget and will make it an unforgettable experience for the family.
EagleRay,
Your review is awesome! Thanks. My children are 11 & 8.
If all goes well, I am pulling the trigger and putting down a deposit in the next couple of days.

I thought it might have been too wordy so glad you liked it- just one thing- one bedroom in CB is upstairs and entry to fourth BD downstairs and outside main living space!

They are all on our list though we have stayed at neither yet. The outdoor shower view at Villa Tiffany really does it for me. What a way to wake up in the mornings.

We stayed at Island Horizons in mid-November 3 years ago. It's a nice villa but those stairs got old. I'm not a klutz but I found myself tripping up them often and I wouldn't take a kid to stay there in a million years because of all of those stairs. I was also 5 months pregnant at the time and got winded easily; my husband minded the stairs less than I did but still thought they were a pain.
The views from Island Horizons are great. The drive is fun. I just looked up the price and it's gone up quite a bit for 2 people; I would not stay there for $2450 a week for two in the off-season, it isn't worth that much to me.
The upstairs level has the main living area and two of the bedrooms, so even though there are bedrooms below (with exterior access), you feel like you are staying in a two-bedroom villa.
