Airport to Red Hook

Hey All,
How is the best way to drive from airport to car ferry at Red Hook? From road map I see on-line, you can take either the lower RT# 30 to RT#32 or the mid island RT#38. Renting from Amalie Car Rental which I'm sure will have map and directions but, just wanted to get some feedback from you all. 5 days to go!!!
