So we have 7 days to enjoy St. John in January. What would you suggest as the top ten restaurants for dinner. Skinny legs will be one we'll go to, but suggestions of your other favorites would be helpful! I saw the restaurant location map on the board which is fantastic, and yelp has reviews, but how about you forumites? I'd like to read which ones you go back to each time you visit St. John...thank you!

Top 10? Search works!

Next week, we'll hit La Plancha del Mar, Fatty Crab, La Tapa, Rhumb Lines and some lunch spots. Zozo's gets a lot recommendations... We always hit Shipwreck Landing for lunch and dinner.

There, you're halfway there.

Cheers, RickG

Isn't skinny legs one of those places you have to hit when in coral bay? I've never been to St. John, but I've read that it's a local funky bar, good for a burger? Yes? Maybe get a t-shirt? Where do you like to go Pia?

Yes Skinny's great place to hang out with great burgers especially when you are all grungy and sweaty from snorkeling and really need a cold one :) Would I go there for dinner - well I would because I live here but if I only had 7 dinners I would hit Skinny's for lunch and then for dinner Aqua Bistro, Shipwreck, Sweet Plantains, Banana Deck, ZoZo's (upscale) and then probably Aqua Bistro and Shipwreck again :)

Pia,
I recall reading somewhere that the Maho restaurant at the campground is pretty good. Would you suggest Maho, and for which meals? Also, the Cinnamon Bay campground restaurant has had a number of pros and cons. What is your take on CB Restaurant?

One thing Mike & I do is hit the bars at Cruz Bay restaurants for a 2-3 hour "Happy Hour"! We usually split something at each place and sample different drinks. The last two times we ended up at Banana Deck for desert!

We are big fans of Shipwreck, High Tide, and Lime Inn. Will see them next week :)

I think it's a good idea to look online at the places suggested and check out their menus and also their prices..Then you will have a better idea of the places you would like to visit..Upscale vs casual, etc..I have been doing that for our upcoming trip.

Didn't see a website for The Terrace though..Anyone know if they have one or know if a menu is avail online?
Also...have a question about some of the more casual places like Lone Star Taqueria, Barefoot Cowboy Lounge, etc...Didn't see websites for them. Are they usually open early evening or do they have mostly lunch type hours?
(Edit: I found out Lone Star Taqueria is open 7-4)
