Spring trip report...
Left in a hurry...Storm was threatening the Northeast, so instead of leaving for the airport at 4AM as we'd intended, we left the night prior just after work. This caused us to lose packing time and we left (I mean I left) valuable information behind. Such as our villa information, all reference information I'd copied from the forum and Xislandgirls cell number and her villa info. Remembered I'd left my file behind about an hour into the trip. Too late then... What do they say about the best laid plans...
Parked at a lot in Boston that gives you a ride to the airport. Stayed at the Hyatt...Nice, but hadn't planned on the extra expense, but we were at the airport and not driving through as storm as the weather people had predicted. Woke to lovely clear sky. Swell. Could've stayed home and driven no prob. Oh well.
Checked in two hours early, that was easy. Actually had enough miles to upgrade us in one direction on our trip and decided to do it. Now getting through security was another story. I was the unlucky pick in the TSA lottery. They tore my bag up. Attempted to morally break me down and tried to spit me out, but I wouldn't let them. Kept up my smile and let them proceed to treat me as the terrorist of the day. Thankfully all good things must come to an end and they saw I wasn't breaking so they let me enter the scared halls of Logan Intl Airport.
AA flight down was great. First class is wonderful and our 10 year old was thrilled. She headed to coach as always, but we turned her around. Fun to drink champagne in the morning and not have to pay for headsets . Flight was on time and landed and I grabbed a few singles for the rum punch people who we head immediately for. Oh forgot to mention how good that warm air feels after a New England winter. Airport was chaos as always. Walked past the windows where people peered out like they were prisoners on Alcatraz. They looked mighty unhappy...good clue to how I'd be feeling in a little over a week. Rum punch was a great welcome. Luggage arrived in the throng of a million people...better than last year when it didn't arrive. Picked up the teeny tiniest car that Avis had. We managed to squeeze into our Brio. Headed to quick visit to our island friend who works across from Haven sight...Had hugs and ice water and headed to Secret Harbor which is our favorite place on St Thomas. Arrived at about 4p.

My brother and his family were in the water so our 10 year old was ready to charge in. We'd rented a two bedroom oceanfront as they'd flown in from Seattle the day before. (the two bedroom was newly redone and on the market for a mere 595K.) Headed to the bar and ordered a Painkiller which we (hubby and me) quickly killed. Time to jump in. Water was fantastic. Swam with the kids and rested on the platform. Talked to a couple from Michigan who'd been there a week and couldn't believe they'd never been to the USVI before. They had two kids and loved the place. We told them we were heading to St John the next day and they couldn't believe we'd do a thing like that. Time to leave the water...showers were needed. Little one went first. Time for Tuna appetizer from the Blue Moon for me. (I was glad to get that!) Dinner that night was Iggys which was quite frankly terrible. We wanted Blue Moon, but the other family had already eaten there and wanted to try Iggys. Almost inedible all the way around. Slept great that first night..
Breakfast at the Blue Moon. You can't do any better than that. Choc chip pancakes with REAL whipped cream. Great service and the best tropical setting you can imagine. I so love that place. Honestly, we were sick to leave after one day. But, rates there had gone up so high we were actually better off renting a villa on St John between the two families. Can you imagine? Anyway...here we go...
This is the day we check into Idyllic...which I wrote a review for...

Done for now. I 'll try to add pictures but am photo challenged...
