Voluntary bump leaving STT?

Every trip home, they've been asking at the airport for people to voluntarily give up their seats, but Blaine wouldn't do it. I have always been more than willing to stay one more night. Has anyone here ever taken the voluntary bump, and what happened?

The give you a travel voucher usually in the amount of $250 to $400 per person to be used on a future flight, provided a hotel for the night ( if they cant get you out later that day) and put you on the next available flight and usually a dinner/food voucher. If you have checked luggage you do not have access to it - it will go on your original flight and be held in a secure place at your final destination airport.

I've never had that request in STT. That would be tempting. It's usually given when we travel during some mid destination where we wouldn't want to spend an extra night.

They just offered this during our departure yesterday. They needed 5 volunteers for our flight and offered $500 voucher for future air, hotel in stt and guaranteed flight out the next morning. By the time we got to the front of the line, they only needed 1 more. So my husband and I are home today:(

I'm volunteering to bump as well. Will they put us up in the Best Western Emerald Beach and pay for dinner? That's a no brainer to me....it's one more night, man! Good to know! I think Jillian and I will be making

saaaaad faces calling our employers to say we've been bumped. I'm getting 24 precious hours longer with my only child <3
Sounds like a good deal!
