Wow - I just read in ski2play's most recent (great) trip report that the gate at Ditleff has been taken down, allowing access to the beach!!! Can this be true? Last July my son and I met a Ditleff resident (lucky guy) who was kind enough to give us his access code (for the day) when we mentioned it was our very favorite snorkel. Is it possible that finally the law suit over public/private land has opened this area to us poor people?

I caught that, too, and am interested! I'm coming down in January with my daughter (her first trip). I love to do some things with her that Blaine hasn't been able to do ....some firsts for the girls! What's great about the snorkel there?

Trail to the right leads down to a sandy beach. Sorkel left, and keep wide right of the reef. Lots to see. Or go straight across to the right side - for good swimmers only.

Just wanted to let you know that when we drove bu the entrance to Ditleff this morning they were putting the gate back up .

When we stayed at Serenta de la Playa last year we snorkeled from thier to Ditliff - it was a very easy and great snorkel. There was some public access to the right of our villa so if you use that you can still snorkel Ditliff. My first snorkel of Ditliff Point was on the morning of 09/11.

DAMN!!! I knew this was too good to be true!

Went by on my way home today and the gate is back up but open. I'll keep you posted!
