Hi everyone,
Six of us are going down to St John for Thanksgiving, from Thurs to the following
Wed. I've been to the island about 8 times but never at that time. I've generally gone in Feb or March so I don't know how the weather is in November or how the snorkeling is. I'd appreciate any info anyone might have about that as well as what restaurants are ope for Thanksgiving. Thanks and can't wait to hit the island.

We went last week nov first week dec last year. Had always previously gone in Apr or May. Loved it. Going back at that time again this year. Water still warm from the summer. Island green. Snorkeling great. Christmas winds started moving in in Dec and north shore beaches had big waves. Interesting to see. But still had good snorkeling on south shore beaches. Didn't find any rest. closures. Can't say about thanksgiving, as we arrived on Sat after.

You will love Thanksgiving time on St. John. Warm water, great snorkling, restaurants open.
We've only missed one year in the past 8. By the way, we had a great Thanksgiving dinner last year at High Tide.
St John soon come!

I'll be there the day after Thanksgiving for a week (going solo). I'm glad to here that the water will still be warm, I have always gone in July & August. So maybe we can all meet at the Beach Bar.

From today's
http://www.on-stjohn.com story about Sam and Jack's Deli:
"if you’re on island for Thanksgiving, they’ll be making full turkey feasts to go. Just pre-order at least a week before Thanksgiving Day."

Good idea for them! I hope the new chef is as great as whomever was running the show in the past - I just love this place!

We will be having dinner out on Thanksgiving..Can't decide if I want to stay with traditional fare or eat something with an island flavor..We will be watching the University of Texas game somewhere that night..I am sure we will be wearing our Texas tshirts..If you see us, say hi
