Looking at a trip over Thanksgiving...Any of you going to be on island?? Would love to meet up for happy hour..
Also...I am looking at flights...Coming home, we would do STT > MIA > DFW. From Miami to DFW the AA site is not letting me reserve seats. So my question is....when we check in at STT that day will they assign seats then, or would I have to be at the mercy of trying to get seats when we got to Miami? We don't have a huge leeway in our connecting times. Anyone know??

Ok sorry...I went ahead and called American...Here is what they said in case anyone else runs into the same thing..

1. Keep checking the site because they will often hold seats for people with disabilities or unaccompanied children, etc..as the departure date gets closer and they don't have those needs, they will release seats for assignment.
2. If that doesn't happen...The seats will be assigned at the point of departure that day, not at the connection.

Hi, thought I would answer regarding Thanksgiving. . . . . there are six of us arriving Thanksgiving Day and we'll be on island for 12 nights. We typically are around for Happy Hour so we hope to meet up with you!
