Please Keep an Eye on Invest 94L

Good Morning! I don't want to cause alarm, but please keep your eyes on Invest 94L this coming week. One model has it going over Barbados as a tropical storm/possible hurricane, turning north and shooting the gap between Culebra and STT by the end of the week before heading to the eastern US. We all know how fickle storms are, especially this far out, but after going through a few hurricanes (Katrina included) I always monitor storms. One model has it going north of the islands completely and I hope this is the track it follows.

Once again, nothing has been set in stone and I don't mean to cause alarm, but felt the need to tell y'all since you were such a valuable resource to me before my first trip there. I'm not sure if I can post links here, but crownweather dot com is a great site to use to monitor storms. He has the latest model runs as well as rational forecast discussions about storms.

It looks like now it will go south of St John. Hopefully y'all will just get some needed rain and cooling winds for a day or so and then back to being my favorite place on Earth! Please keep your eye on it, because we know how quickly these things change! Either way, it doesn't look like it will be as strong as they had predicted earlier, but still needs to be watched.

Have a great week! Until we meet again......

We are now under a Tropical Storm WATCH -- very likely to experience 30-40 kt. winds and certainly some good rain - if you are on island you have to consider the wind effect on outside furniture and plants and take the necessary precautions - umbrellas, awnings, liteweight furniture, bushy plants in containers, windchimes and such decorations and any other small objects should be secured or moved to protected areas - the danger in winds of this range is not so much structural but any flying debris can easily break sliding glass doors and windows - and the loss of power for hours or more must be considered in your plan - everyone will be busy securing their homes for the next 24 hrs while things are still beautiful but it looks to be a very gusty Wed. night and Thurs.
The path and intensity predictions can change dramatically for better or worse but it is pragmatic to be prepared ahead of time when a storm is close enough to change course.

Wow! I posted before I went to work and now the WATCH has been issued. I'm always scared to post these things bc I don't want to be an alarmist, but this one really caught my eye. Stay safe!

You can rest easy Trauma, I assure you that the residents of St. John are keeping an eye on the TD. They live there and are well aware of the tropic activity.....
