Seeking suggestions for a BVI trip wedding gift

I am looking for recommendations for a wedding gift.

Our 20-something friends are getting married in a couple of months and will be honeymooning on St. John. It will be their first trip to St. John.

We were thinking of getting them a day trip to the BVIs as a wedding gift. Our only experience was with a Caneel trip to the Baths and a private charter to Jost.

I don't think they would like a private trip (which would be out of our gift price range anyway) but we want to select a nicer group boat for them. Because of their newbie-ness, I think they will enjoy a more organized trip.

They would really enjoy White Bay (and the bars) so we definitely want to pick a service that visits Jost.

Can anyone offer their opinion on a smaller BVI boat trip?

I can't help but that's a very thoughtful and creative gift. At one of my showers I got a gift certificate to a STJ restaurant and I was surprised and thrilled that someone would think to do that for me.

and PS if you are giving it to them at the wedding make sure they know it is there :) It gets confusing after a while and you wouldn't want them to leave without having looked at it!

They will have lived together for nearly two years prior to the wedding and therefore are hard to buy for in the sense that they already have what they need/want.

We have a STJ-info and planning dinner on the schedule for June so I hoped to give it to them that night along with a bunch of STJ brochures. (they are a bit timid about going to the unknown - we will need to convince them that a rental car is a must)

Your comment now has my wheels turning for a shower gift - she would definately be into a massage or spa service!

I would think NHII would be a great fit for them.

I forget Capt'n Phils email (someone on here may know) but he would take people anywhere and Jost would be no problem......and he is such a cool charactor and really knows alot about the sea........so time with him is fun

It sounds like they would really enjoy the New Horizons II trip. We have done it twice and loved it both times. It is nice, the boat gets you there fast and you end the day at Jost. Nothing can be bad that ends at the Soggy Dollar. :D

Is New Horizons II a power boat or a catameran? Not that it matters but I am googling it and am getting a power boat. Just want to make sure I contact the right people.

It is a powerboat. We wanted that to be able to get to the destination quicker and be able to linger longer at the Baths, lunch at Marina Cay, snorkle at Guana Island and then off to Jost. Great trip.

Hi! Last year we took a day trip to JVD and it was awesome. Our first stop was off Lovango Cay (sorry if I spelled it wrong) for some snorkeling, then off to Foxy's for lunch, and then over to the Soggy Dollar bar. The catamaran and the staff were great. I am planning on the same trip this June. We booked through Cruz Bay Watersports http://www.divestjohn.com I am sure they will love and appreciate any trip around the islands. Good Luck! Barb
